Well, on the other hand, we pay far higher taxes than in the US. I'd rather pay the taxes and have the healthcare than the alternative, but technically it's not totally "free".
But back on topic! Kate's flashbacks are never my favourites, but this was definitely one of her better ones, and the on-island stuff was classic Lost - thrills, action, humour, and lots of nuances to the interpersonal relationships.
Kate is my least favorite character on Lost. Add to that the horrible preview, I didn't expect much from this episode. But I liked it. Maybe because my expectations were so low!! I liked the Kate/Juliet interaction... The monster made it all exciting! But I thought I was re-watching a combination of Hearts and Minds and The Moth during the monster scene. I liked seeing Cassidy again... but I wondered why she would help Kate like - It was a risky move, especially for a stranger that is also a murderer. Did this episode made me like Kate more? Not really. Oh and I don't trust Juliet anymore.... this whole left behind looks like a set-up to me.
[RANT]And may I complain again about all the attention Saywer is getting from the writers? The guy is either heavily involved in the main plot or the center of the beach B-plot. Couldn't they find a B-plot that would center on someone other than Sawyer for once? How about a Charlie/Claire B-plot? Because unless it's their episode, they just not on screen together at all. Or how about Sun and Jin? Claire? Desmond? Someone else than Sawyer!!! [/RANT]

I initially thought she was going to help her because she could use kate as a way to get back at Sawyer, but then i realized that didn't make sense. Then it occured that she do something right to prove something to herself. The fact that those two even met up is cause for speculation.
Yeah, no kidding! It's enough they get free health care, can legally buy Cuban cigars, and have the politest society on earth, but it's just going too far when they get to see Lost before we do!
I hate to rain on your parade but our health care is hardly free. It's paid for out of the huge taxes we pay. It barely covers doctor and hospital visits. We have to pay out of pocket for drugs, dentists, glasses and the like. Some provinces even charge their residents another fee for medical care even though we all pay for it from our income taxes, so they're being taxed twice.
And after watching Lost tonight from 7 to 8, let me tell you, it was nothing great. More filler, filler, filler. And haven't we flashbacked to Kate enough?
Colour me grumpy. I hope I can hang in until the bitter end.
8. Very solid. Like it a lot. Good A plot and good B plot. No complaints from me, other than being a bit confused about Juliet having the key to the handcuffs.
Gave it an 8. Loved the Cassidy-Kate interaction. Loved Hurley's "con."
Appreciated that James "got" that some people will never accept his amends.
I don't trust Juliet. Wanna trust her. Don't.
And I don't want Jack to be leader. Wanna trust him. Don't. (Yeah, Jack, Ben's a man of his word and Kate's responsible for EVERYTHING that happened to you. Great judge of character, that's you!)
Loved it...Yay, Smokey again! And I loved Elizabeth Mitchell's acting...she and Evie were great together.
R.I.P. Keamy...wonderfully scary...I love him. Hope I don't have nightmares.
Favorite characters: Smokey and Vincent...TPTB killed my 5 previous favorites.
I wear ruby slippers to watch LOST.
I'm not obsessed with LOST...just very, very interested.
