Report of the last three hours.
Got into my car and drove 10 minutes to the ice arena. Parked a bit aways, and it was about five minute walk to the arena itself. Very cold out and I was almost frozen by the time I got in the building.
Several staff members directed me to the suite level where I picked up my ticket and started looking for the suite which was at the far end on one side of the arena.
The suite itself had a bar counter, some couches, and two rows of 10 seats in the front. Greeted a number of my fellow city council members and their families.
The show was this
Skating and GymnasticsThey had it setup so that on one end of the arena, was a large floor exercise area, the middle the skating area and at the other end, various apparatus: parallel bars, balance beam, rings, etc.
They would alternate skating and the gymnastics and towards the end, they had all three areas going.
The skating was nice overall and the women's gymnastics good as well. However, the standout was clearly the men's gymnastics. It was more of a novelty to see men's gymnastics and the guys had some pretty creative routines that really wowed the crowd.
The suite itself was very nice and comfy with a great view, and the staff pretty attentive. However, I had to pay for the drinks and the food. So I wound up with a $1 can of coke and $5 nachos and accidentally gave one of the staff folks a $5 tip. I drank water the rest of the night. *g*
Bailed out a bit before the end of the show, because by then I wanted to get home.
And I am and heading towards a warm bed.
