Hey everyone,

I opened a Frappr map for the Fuselage. It's a neat tool that allows everyone to put a pushpin where they live so we can see how spread out we are. Whether you are an active poster or an occasional lurker, go ahead and add your pin to the map. Let's see how quickly we can fill in the 50 states, and how far around the world we reach.
Check out our Frappr!

KoRoBaRo - Liked the suicide post. Stephen King kept the dream (to some) nightmare (to others) alive! (Pinhead style, of course). Wait, that's Clive Barker!

Stephen King would roll over and slap Monkeyshines at that comment.

On FlashForward tonight, a FBI agent picked up a gun, placed it under his chin, and pulled the trigger. IT DIDN'T GO OFF. Hey, did Michael show him that trick?
On a cartoon on the show, the toon showed a magician who was describing a "power that no one would ever be able to fully understand. A power so great that to understand it would drive one crazy." (Not a 100% exact quote off the top of my head, but that's the gist). Hey, how did the cartoon magician on FlashForward know what's under the island?
The FBI agents ended up at a cult house where people were torturing themselves, S&M, electrocutions, pain galore! They were having so much fun. Didn't look like fun to me! I bet someone (or something) put them up to it! Cheers!

To italicize words...

"less than" bracket then "i" then "greater than" bracket
**type your comment**
"less than" bracket then "/" then "i" then "greater than" bracket

Practice, practice, practice to be ready for the upcoming season because everything we talk about during the week of each episode MUST BE spoilerfonted.

You can even copy and paste the spoilerfont format that is just above the comments box. Start at the first "less than" bracket and drag your curser to include the last "greater-than" bracket. Copy it and paste it into the comments box then type something between the 2 sets of brackets. It will appear to be black empty space until you drag your curser over the black to read the spoiler..

//You can also go to the "Supported HTML Tags" under "The Fuselage Info" for more info and how to do strikethroughs or bold or
small print
and so on.

It is so much fun to be able to do them!

Good luck and have fun!!

Jdam - Apparently, Stephen King has nothing to do with Lost. It is all so Obvious. I am really a dumb person. Juliet was only reading her favorite book, "Carrie", shareing it with the book club, only because, well, obviously, it's a good book. Nothing More.
...Oh, and long haired Richard...mystery solved!! When we see him with young Ben and his hair is long...we just caught Richard inbetween haircuts...Nothing More.

5. I agree... Richard's hair is not much of a discussion topic and may not even have been a continuity error. He may have been in costume like Mr. Friendly & Co. when the Losties first met them.

4. There are many King references on Lost and some see a number of parallels with 'It'. I can't comment as I couldn't get in to 'It'.

3. I'll enjoy any visit Elizabeth makes.

2. No, not a cult... although they do tend to follow the leader.

1. Jack was approaching breakdown after his marriage broke up and was possibly suicidal... but not while on the island.

1. Jack was not suicidal or attempting to jump off of a bridge until AFTER they left the island.

2. They are not a cult, the Others maybe, but the 815 folks, no.

3.Elizabeth Mitchell will be appearing in the final season but will not be a regular.

4. "It" (movie) has nothing to do with Lost, neither does everything little thing, it's a FICTIONAL T.V. show.

5. Richard with the longer hair probably has no significance, more than likely just a continuity error.

Amazing round-up of character, KR! Wow, nicely done. I think...ya know what, I simply believe that in LOST, among soooo many other things, we have a spectrum of what death is and what it looks like - where and when it comes from.

Cdewitt, I hear ya - oh...my...gosh, do science and faith often clash - as we see BIIIGTIME in the show. I may catch gosh-knows-what for this, but I believe that it's very much a chicken and egg thing - did faith develop to explain science...or did science develop to explain faith? Myths, to my mind, were so clearly created to explain the natural world...but as to where the natural world came from...well, that's the debate of Ages. :)

I dunno, sure I sometimes feel as you do, that the glass is harder to fill, but 99% of the time, I feel that the older I get the more I seek out and find the gratitude and blessings so the more "cup runneth over" moments I have.

hello everyone just to let the world know when i was a kid i really believed in the spiritual realm but as i got older and "wiser" i started to think that maybe we were just ants on a rock floating in space. my cup was smaller and easier to fill now my cup is bigger and not so easy to fill. science and faith a huge part of my life christian school early education but got to a point where christianity told me i was "lost" if i believed that we came from monkeys or "other" beings from space and those were the things that i wanted to know about more than anything. spirituality and science tend to be in "conflict" all the time yet as "time" goes on the lines begin to become crossed and intertwined. when maybe in reality they were working together the whole "time".

KoRoBaRo - a very succinct description of the characters' mental state(s)... and, at one time or another, all may have partaken of the Kool-Aid, if offered. But the characters have tended to have highs and lows that are not in sync with each other. I believe the damaged mental state of the main characters is the reason they were not on The Others 'good' list like those taken from the tail section. Some of the nameless survivors would surely have been taken had Ethan not been found out so quickly.

I didn't say the theory wasn't worth discussing, I was merely teasing that it was 'out there'.

KoRoBaRo walks into the Work & Lurk Cafe and removes his RayBans. Looking around he spies OldManFan in the corner, smiles, and wishes him a GoodMorning! KoRoBaRo pours himself a coffee and goes and sits at OldManFan's table, takes a deep breath, leans over and begins sharing his Ridiculous KoolAid Kids Cult Theory...

One thing that always struck me about all the characters and initially appealed to me, was how emotionally unstable they all were. They masked that manic state well...but as we spent more time with these characters, we discover just how "Suicidal" they all were.
-Jack could barely keep it together and at one point was going to end it by jumping off a bridge.
-Kate was a murdering fugitive with no place left to run who also caused the death of a true love, who's own mother turned her back on...I would understand if she was at a breaking point.
-Sawyer was a conman who became everything he grew up hating, the self loathing must have been terrible. Plus he's an ex-con with a kid and he murdered an innocent man. He was running out of road fast.
-Claire was just making all the wrong moves, looking for love in all the wrong places. Her mother was in a coma because of her. Her man bolted and left her with his deposit. Some drunk daddy shows up and wants to connect but the timing stinks. She just wants to "Walk Away" from it all.
-Locke...Holy Crap...too easy...the whole creepy "Helen" phone sex deal, and pretty much everything...and in the end he was swinging from the rafters.
-Micheal couldn't eat a bullet fast enough or write off his car quick enough to escape what life gave him.
-Hurley was so familiar with apparitions that becoming one would not be such a giant leap of faith...say off a cliff.
-Charlie was gonna cook himself a cocktail sooner or later that would just take him away with his syringe being his lady of mercy.
-Desmond killed Inman and was locked up alone for along time in a place that was known for making people want to blow their brains out...I know he found redemption, but I have a theory about Desmonds happiness being fleeting, or not "Meant to be." For the record I'm rooting for Desmond beating the odds, but I don't think that's what's in the cards..."The Island is not done with you." ...crap! There goes his happy ending...hope I'm wrong.
-Shannon was soo messed up and, dare I say, abused? Something was really "off" about her. If we discovered she attempted suicide after she was with Boone, well, I wouldn't be shocked.
-Sayid was starting to crack. He could not play "the Instrument of Death" much longer. His emerging conflicted psyche is ripping him apart. His need for love was used to manipulate him to work for Ben, and was constantly placing him in the path to become a victim as well...He had a "Death Wish."
-Sun was torn by the world she grew up in. She watched her man be destroyed by that world and almost completely lost the love they shared. She wanted to escape and abandon her entire life. The death of her murdered lover was a stain on her soul. She was responsible. That could have driven her away from it all...she was ready for the end of all things.

For me, I can be honest and say that, yes, I believe that most of these characters were in a suicidal mental state of some type. So, inorder to get from A to B, I have to ask if that could lead to anything? Could that be a connection to it all. Looking at group suicide, what if someone like Ben or Jacob came to them in a moment of need and preyed upon them...telling them they could go somewhere else where things would be different, better? I'm trying to think of how the Chronicles of Narnia would factor into this idea.

These characters were Lost souls who were brought to The Island to be used as pawns in a game. The Island reminds me of "The Land of the Lost" in the sense that everything is "Fractured." The science, the mythology, the reality...it's recognizable but yet unreal.

I guess I'm trying to point out that we have an Island of highly unstable characters who have access to powers that they do not understand and cannot control. They are proven to be capable of violent and destructive and murderous intent and they are on a suicide mission. The end so far as we know it to this point is the detonation of "Jughead" and the mass murder of all present on the island at that time. "Jack and his League of Suicide Bombers." ...is that why they are chosen? Because they are all suicidal??

Whew!! KoRoBaRo leans back and takes a deep breath, his head spinning. The coffee isn't working anymore...there goes the cafine buzz. He stands up, stretching, and heads for the door. Can't wait to hear OMF'S reation to all this...beyond crying balderdash!! ...please forgive the Hurley-Sized Post.

Hiatus Project - 3 eps, instead of 4, because S4 is a short season:

The Beginning Of The End - a tour de force for Jorge. So, the question becomes how crazy is Hurley? Charlie is seen by another patient, slaps Hurley, but disappears quickly. Is this a dimensional/parallel universe thing or is Hurley simply that crazy.
Who did Hurley see in the cabin? Obviously, Christian/Jacob was in the chair, but whose partial face popping up scared the crap out of him? Esau/man-in-black?
So, was the large piece of fuselage in the jungle supposed to be the fore section/cockpit? Because the terrain was all wrong. There was the fore section (death of the pilot), the large middle section that was ripped up, burned, and washed off the beach, a smaller, but fair-sized middle section by the caves, and the tail section (which fell in the ocean). There shouldn't be any other pieces that big.

Once there is a slow, even burn going, he turns to the Late Night Bartender and orders a Double Remy Martin XO Cognac to go with his Smoke.
Walking over to the JukeBox, he remebers Mr Hernandez's request for some Matthew Good so he chooses:
M-18 Matthew Good "Last Parade"
Y-88 Mer - "Parabol"
S-54 Ryan Adams - "Wonderwall"
KoRoBaRo returns to the booth and begins discussing Jdams theories and laughing with what spero said because we all know what she means.
KoRoBaRo scribbles down a note for OMF that he will think more on a theory about the Losties being a KoolAid Kids Cult, overnight and post it in the morning. P.S. Don't worry...it will be Ridiculous.

"V" opened with a 3 second screenshot of the city, and the first character seen was Elizabeth Mitchell, she's asleep, camera closes in on her, her eyes open, her pupils dialate. (I could almost hear the drumming sound with some jungle birds). Lost is a success, why not copy its opening!

They mentioned 'hope' multiple times. Up front, the aliens are here to give us technology and to help us cure cancer.

Great Ceasar's Ghost! If they cure Ben's tumor and he can live for a really long time like Richard........Quick! Give Sayid a blaster this time! And while you're at it, tell him the Man from Tallahasse hates Iraquis. And also tell him Widmore said he cracks coconuts like a girl! After he's done all that, Sayid and Locke can go on a 'hunting trip'.

KoRoBaRo - They ARE in a cult (though many of them wouldn't look at it that way, YET). The woman Jack shacked up with while vacationing abroad was in a cult. Her cult members kicked Jack's assembly.

Each of the groups that come under new leadership on the island form a new cult. Occasionally, lines are drawn. Sometimes, agreements are made. Some cults merge; some merge once leadership issues have been "worked out". Some cults will never become much of anything or will all die at once thus becoming 'has been' cults. The D.I. 'has been' on the island and now they 'has been' in a mass grave. The cult who is on the island at the end of Lost will be the chosen ones. What they will be chosen for is.......another Lost mystery! (Come on, you don't really want to know everything, do you?) In the end, the winners will regret their prize, most of all the one who "just can't let go"; no last minute "fix-ups" for this one. Only the bell toll. (How loud would it be to hear 8 billion bells toll all at once)?

KoRoBaRo walks into the Work & Lurk Cafe and heads over to the JukeBox and plunks in 2 nickles.
Browsing at the selections, he selects:
H-12 Team Sleep "Kool Aid Party
N-9 Deftones "Xerces"
...it appears that the theme I've choosen is about Group Suicide and the theory behind it. What if the Losties all belong to a cult and they actually acheived their goal of reaching the promised land...would it not reflect a similar scape as the Island?

Jdam - Again, You are amazing with your connections between the Islands!! Man I loved that story. I was a real Brat growing up, (No, It's True), and I enjoyed a character that was worse behaved than me. The best part was the ending...no spankings or being grounded...just a hug and a kiss from Mom...I'd like to see Lost top that Ending!!

I saw "Where the Wild Things Are?" this weekend and I thought they did a cute adaptation. It was very childish and vvveeerrryyy ssslllooowww, but they made some good changes.
1 - Amongst Max's stuffed toys, he had a large rubber octopus.
2 - When the full moon came out, he donned his suit, jumped on the kitchen counter and bit his mother. He then screamed at the top of his lungs and went running and screaming wildly into the street.
3 - He boarded a sailboat and sailed until he hit a storm. Just when he thought the storm would get the best of him, he arrived at (ahem) the Island.
4 - He found the monsters, who wanted to eat him, but he deceived them by telling them he was a king in his world with magical powers.
5 - They played wargames, chose sides, picked favorites, that old chestnut.
6 - One of the monsters showed him his idea of building a city of towering structures. They were made from trees and rocks and were great monoliths.

"Where the Wild Things Are?" was one of my favorite children's books. Little did I know then what it was loosely based on!

Good evening! I am definitely enjoying the time change, loved the fact it was lighter out when I woke up today, but it is definitely getting colder and colder...more time in front of the computer, hence my visit here!

Wow, 2010 is the last season ever of Lost? I've been watching many of the former characters in some of the new prime time shows on lately....been enjoying Flash Forward! It's been nice to see the stars of Lost in other projects...but perhaps it also tells us which characters will not be back next season?

I read recently that the upcoming season will eventually go with one straight timeline, no more flashbacks....the producers are promising a great ending...one quote was "we will not be playing any songs by Journey and fading to black"....well, that's good news!

This is a somewhat dated article but found it interesting...

I sure hope I make it back tomorrow, I have a song in mind for tuneful Tuesdays!

Since Ben was revealed to Smokie as a child, he could not ever be allowed to know Jacob. That's why Jacob always ignored him. And yet Richard took him there and Richard knew Jacob. Richard always took Ben to see Jacob but nothing happened; Ben only pretended. Jacob was no longer using the cabin, or was simply keeping silent. He was pretty quiet while Ben was getting his emotions out in the statue. Yet when Ben and Locke went together to the cabin and Locke turned on his flashlight, Jacob (or whatever) went postal. He could stand firelight, but not the flashlight. I know he hated technology, but being sensitive to light sources? Still curious and still unanswered?

I rewatched "It" for Halloween and the first manifestation of "it" was Ben's dead father standing in the boggy marsh, ankle deep in water. The first manifestation of Smokie was Jack seeing his dead father standing ankle deep in the ocean.
Ben's last name was Handso (Hanso) and his hobby was studying ancient civilizations, including Indian and Egyptian culture. I thought it was too cute to not post it here.

Alright, check this out, I just a you tube video, is called:
Lost season 5- (Extended)- Lafleur-Secrets and Theories. It blew my mind. It's got really interesting facts. Great stuff, like the statue that Miles and Juliet and Lafleur saw with the open legs. It says that "this" statue is Isis (god of fertility) and it shows real life statues of her and in all of her real life statues, she had 4 toes. Now I'm thinking when the statue was destroyed, that is when women started dying during pregnancy. Maybe?! Also in that same video, there is a clip of Sawyer asking Horace if he ever heard of the Black Rock and Horace said he never heard of it. So how did Horace get the dynamite? Hmmm.
You guys gotta check that one out, it's crazy.

I thought I would share this story about how the people of Churchill,(I live in Winnipeg), spend Halloween. This is the only Province in Canada to be cold enough for Polar Bears....

"Trick-or-treaters in the northern Manitoba town of Churchill will get street protection worthy of a visiting head of state this Halloween.

Come Sunday night, the town of 1,000 will be ringed by about a dozen fire trucks and ambulances, all revving engines and shining spotlights on goblin-filled streets to keep curious polar bears from getting a little too close to roaming children.

Overhead, a helicopter will circle, while a crew armed with immobilizing darts will be stationed around town, just in case the bears don't get the point.

Halloween's polar bear patrol has been a feature of Churchill for 20 years. Bears are regularly spotted in the community from early summer to the end of November, depending on ice conditions. They lope into town because of Churchill's proximity to the world's largest denning area."

...this was from a CBC story in 2004

OMF - You really made me pause with the comment about Richard's ability to leave the Island and return. In Locke's case, at the time of his Birth, did the "Others" have that ability? We know that they can leave by turning the Frozen Donkey Wheel...but that is a one way ticket, which plops you out in only one destination.
How did Richard get Baaaaaaack??!! ...sorry, having a stung-out Jack Sheppard moment.

SkyHigh Blonde - I really liked what you said about Rose and Bernard. In a way, I really hope they don't end up being Adam and Eve in the caves...I hope they have something better instore for them. Hiatus Project:
Season three fares better on review than the original showing, IMHO, because there's no long break after the first 6 episodes and the 'new' characters aren't new. There weren't 3 or 4 episodes of everyone saying "who are Nikki & Paolo?".

I really liked 'Expose'. It is my belief that this episode was planned from the introduction of Nikki & Paolo, but it was moved up due to the fans dislike of the new characters. We find out in the commentary that the writer's have written a number of scenes/scripts for the fake TV show, just in case they have the opportunity to show them on someone's TV.
This episode only works in Jack's absence, as he would have noticed they had been 'dead' for hours, but hadn't turned blue.

One thing I noticed in The Man Behind The Curtain is that Ben is supposed to be in his early 20s when the Hostiles defeat The Dharma Initiative. So how did Richard get off the island to visit Locke's pregnant mom or Locke as a child? There's no indication the Hostiles had transportation to and from the island because all the technology and equipment they've used since then came from Dharma.

DVD extras:
It's a fairly long program, but the Day Of Lost feature is worth time. Starting with Michael Emerson leaving his hotel at 5:00am Hawaii time and finishing late at night in LA, you see various departments all engaged in different aspects of 6 or 7 episodes at the same.

The Terry O'Quinn knife throwing short was fun, also.

Rev, you were speaking of Magnus Hanso. Here's something you might or might not already know about Magnus, there is a translated version of the blast door map on google. It says that Magnus is buried on the island beside the Black Rock. Everything is clearly visible. There is also alot of Cerberus Vents which you posted about earlier. Perhaps we have seen Magnus and not realized it. It's a long shot, but who knows. I just want to be blown away next year like all the other seasons. Long live Keamy! Just kidding.

Good evening all! Wow, there are a lot of theories being considered, the comments I see here are almost beyond my imagination and comprehension!

Perhaps I am more of a Lost novice than most....sorry I missed tuneful Tuesdays...does anything special happen on Wednesdays?

I am not sure if I am knowledgeable enough about the show to answer some of the current questions being pondered, but I do have some questions that are going through my head...I too am excited about the upcoming season and cannot wait!

How the heck is the show going to even start, given I am under the impression that their world literally blew up! Will Juliette ever surface again? Whether she was pregnant or not, does it really matter? How will they ever explain her survival if in fact she does?

Also, the other questions I am wondering how will get answered is more about Locke...why does he have it in for Jacob so badly?

As for Richard, I personally find him to be very creepy! I don't trust him! Perhaps it is all the mystery surrounding him, all the unknown questions that makes me leery...who knows if he is even a human, how can someone remain alive and unaged for so long? What IS his purpose?

Okay, my final thoughts of the evening...yes, there is a lot of different things going on for all of the characters...but for some reason I am drawn to the more simplistic....my favorite characters are still Rose and Bernard. What I like about them is that even though they have been placed into some strange, alternate reality, they are still in love and making the best of it! My favorite scene was when Jack and some others stumbled upon them...they had set up house quite nicely and were rather disappointed that they had been "found out"!

Maybe it is the romantic in me, but I would hope that if something that crazy ever happened to me and my husband, that we would set up house with the best palm fronds we could find, toast each other with coconut drinks and enjoy the life we were in the best we could!

Anyways, these are my current thoughts on the show, and I definitely cannot wait to see them all again! I sure hope Rose and Bernard have somehow survived!

Jacob was preparing a red herring for dinner. Obvious. Now that Jacob's been stabbed through the heart and burned in the pyre, there is no more game.

Unless someone else takes his place.

Desmond has 3 brothers. Who are they then if it is Obvious. Who is Desmond's mom and dad if it isn't Richard and Eloise. Obviously I don't have access to the same info...please share.

I do know one thing that is Obvious. It is that everything we have been led to believe is gonna be turned on it's ear. By the time we find out, during this final season, what is really going on, we will realize that there was nothing Obvious about it.

I think Jacob's ultimate goal is to win the "game" with his nemesis. Again, go back to the backgammon references and Locke talking to Walt holding up the pieces saying "one dark, one light."
Jacob wants to prove that not all people are inherently evil, corrupt, or destructive. I think that's one reason Jack is destined to take over as the leader, he's made some bad choices but he's not a corrupt person. Also that's why I think Aaron plays such a big role and is so important, because he is a child and pure and was born on the island and not tainted by the outside world.

Regarding the Desmond/Faraday being brothers thing.

Jeremy Davies, the actor that plays Faraday in real life is almost 40, but in the show when Eloise shoots him in 1977 she mentions afterwards that she had just found out she was pregnant. When Faraday arrived in the island in 2004 with the freighter team he would have been 27, Desmond was obviously older than that.

Obsessed,

Yeah she was obviously pregnant. If you pay real close attention you can see her rubbing her stomach, and also Bernard found it odd that she didn't take him up on the offer for the tea, because she usually liked it.

One other thing,
I checked out part 4 of the "Mysteries of the Universe" series and it featured DeGroot/Hanso.
It also talked about how big shadowy corporations were puppet masters using smaller groups as fronts or covers. The Hanso foundation was using the Dharma Initiative as a veil for more sinister intentions. I think that might explain the Black Rock. The captain of the ship was Alvar Hanso's ancestor Magnus. Maybe Magnus knew of the island's powers and wanted to harness it's time travel capabilities to manipulate things or play God, and Alvar wanted to succeed where he failed.
Also Youtube Hanso phone messages and you'll find out that Widmore is tied to Hanso Group.

cdewitt76 - Exactly! All these elements are in play. Reincarnation certainly has to be a factor in the show somehow.

Looking back at my past post, I think the one question I am trying to ask is...where do we start from? What is the beginning? I feel like the show is bringing us back...."We have to go Baaaack!"

We can't know what it all means until we discover the History of the Island. Maybe the Nemesis is the Variable and Jacob is the Constant? Maybe one of the reasons why the Nemesis hates Jacob soo much is that the Nemesis changed things, loophole style, inorder to close the Island off to the outside world and it's influences...and Jacob is Constantly trying to correct those changes by manipulating his own loophole, bringing select people to the Island.

I just can't take a step back and see the big picture. I feel like I am stareing at one of those pictures where all the little pictures have a hidden big picture beyond it. I am one of those people who could stare at those things till I went crosseyed and still not get any clue as to what it could possibly be. Then someone else comes along and stares at it for a few secs and says, "Oh. It's a Duck." .....@*!#&@#!!!...

How in the World does this all fit together?! All these completely different elements of Religion and Science which can both support or contradict each other?? I have come soo far and have learnt soo much...and for my troubles I feel more "LoST" than ever...

...to all the people involved with making the Greatest Show on Earth, I would dedicate this song for you all everybody, regarding the last season of Lost...

LoCa - Ha! You got me...I was being sarcastic.

One of the "Other" Lager's claimed, matter of factly, that it was impossible for Desmond to be brothers with Daniel due to the fact that Daniel would need to be the older brother for the theory to have any teeth...and clearly Desmond was older than Daniel.

That's why I was happy for whomever, to share with us all, how that deduction was acquired...seeing nobody knows the ages of both characters.

Also, has Richard ever met Desmond so far?...HHMMM, 4 brothers...weren't we just having a discussion about 4 brothers of Egyptian lore? ...and Richard loves himself some eyeliner...

...what if there were 4 brothers born on the Island and then moved off Island inorder to live a life of hardship (like in the movie 300), then meant to be brought back to the Island when they were ready to lead. This is purely a shot in the dark...but what if Jack/Locke/Desmond/Daniel are the 4 brothers? ...that is one WHoPPeR of an if !!

Ooook, so KR (hi!) how do you conclude that Desmond is older than Daniel? Not being contrary, it's just not as clear to me and I'd love to hear. Indeed Desmond's unknown brothers and parentage could be potentially HUGE.

OH! And, if, as many of us think, Juliet is pregnant, who wants to brave the waters of theorizing how that baby will play into things, huh? ;) Remember, that means the baby was conceived in 197...7, right? So concievably (ok, stupid pun - LOL), the "baby" would be quite grown up if the flash-ees flashed to 2007 after Jughead's alleged detonation.

That is good news!!

How old is Desmond? How old is Daniel?

I had no idea that there was any info regarding how old they were. I know that it is reported that Desmond had 3 brothers...all unknown.

Jdam - I really enjoyed you're borrowed culture concept. That makes sence that whenever a new group of people arrive on the Island, that a Leader from that group be elected inorder to perhaps usher in the "New" Culture that is now effecting the Island. My mind keeps drifting back to Rousseau and her party being the exception. She eliminated her team before their time.
Also some people believes that Richard is assosiated with the Black Rock and is the last, surviving member...and he became a Leader of the Others.

It's kind of sad to know that some outside race brought the Peruvians of Caral the gift of Warfare...I'm left wondering if Lost will in anyway reflect some of that kind of culture into it's history...a culture that did not invent War.

People were commenting about the Egyptian influence on Lost which coincides about as much as the Christian influence, Buddhist influence, Hindu influence, etc.

Did the Egyptians create their own culture? Why sure they did! ---BUT---did they do it from scratch or did they "borrow" parts of their culture? Kind of like the Losties/Jacob/Ben USE what comes to them on the island. If they borrowed part of their culture, from WHOM did they borrow it? Was the language spoken before? Were the heiroglyphs drawn somewhere else?

When Nimrod built the tower at what would later be called Babble, what motivated him to build such a monument? Was it pride in his own power, or did something subconsciously make him build such a 'towering monolith'?!?!

When the Egyptians envisioned Apep and their other Gods, were their visions correct or were they just making it up? If you dare to make an image of a god and the god doesn't like it (or if you get it wrong altogether) you could be facing dire consequences. It might even knock the statue over, leaving only the foot. Or it might rip the head of the statue off and hurl it down upon the civilization that created it (in another place and time).

Koro, I agree with most of what you said. I couldn't imagine a world without violence either. You can't have the good without the bad. I wish the show would start sooner 'cause just sittin' around waiting is driving me insane. I think about all the theories I've read here and on other sites, and my head starts to spin. I wonder how many people were living on the island when Jacob and Nemesis were on the beach talking. I can only assume that there were others with them, perhaps someone in a higher power position who demanded a loophole to be met before killing the other. I also think that given all the bad father son relationships on Lost, it seems possible that Nemesis could be Jacob's father. And/or since Jacob doesn't age, due to some mystical power, perhaps he is Nemesis' father and Nememis is jealous that Jacob didn't share the power. Just a thought.

Jacob's nemesis claimed Jacob had brought the Black Rock to the Island, which would only end up in fighting, destruction and corruption as it always had. Jacob stated that it only had to alter once, or something to that effect.

I always believed that Jacob's nemesis was making this statement based on the theory of Civilization.

In the most basic explanation possible...Civilization was thought to be a byproduct of Warfare. Tribes banded together for protection against "Others" = Cities + Civilization.

No matter how old the cities or where they were located around the world, those civilizations all had one thing in common. Human Sacrifice. All societies thrived on Warfare. In every temple or pyramid, you would discover illistrations dipicting some sort of form of sacrificial ritual that usually envolved enemies and servants alike.

Then I stumbled upon a BBC Horizon documentary about the city of Caral in the deserts of Peru. Basically it said that the theory about how Civilization begun had been debunked. They had found a city older than the rest, (in the America's atleast), that showed no sign of warfare being a part of it's history. People had to rethink what this meant about our history. Was Warfare a byproduct of Civilization instead??

Why I even mention this is, for some reason, I had a difficult time imagining why Jacob was soo "Jacked Up" about changing "The Process"...and to what end?? After watching this documentary, I feel like this could touch on the point of what Jacob is up to, or his goal.

What if Jacob is trying to change what brought Violence to the Island, when it was not a part of it's History??

Forgive me if this seems like a simple explanation...but I have seriously not givin it much thought as to what Jacob succeeding would accomplish. To be honest, I could not imagine a place anywhere on Earth that did not have Violence to some degree.

Yep, Jack's speculating and ONLY speculating makes Bernard and Rose perfectly feasible - and I believe others (nooo, not Others, just...others) certainly have embraced the possibility. If Jack's 40 years gets brought up, well, it can just be dismissed with a "ooops - well, I was just guessing!" And it can be countered just as easily with OMF's observation.

After the meeting-up in the finale and they way they were speaking - "why would we ever leave here" and all that...I TOTALLY bought into it, too - I really wouldn't be surprised if its them.

Then again...LOST is not exactly adverse to surprising the livin' you-know what outta us... ;)

For any who care, I'm here! I've been keeping up with the Hiatus project, but left my %$@! scribbles at work - shall do that shortly. Ready to start Season 4? :)

I gotta say - I'm still soooo bummed I was wrong about the statue - I REALLY thought when we saw it, it was going to be somehow the face of someone we knew...darnit that woulda been cool... I'm still going to stick to my vision that the Statue is going to be part of a Planet of the Apes-type ending...OH MY GOD, WE AAARE BACK ON THE ISLAND!!! Seriously!

Lage love to you all everybody - see ya in anothah life, yeah? :D

Namaste and y'all be good! :)

Revolution_IsMy_Name - interesting... but didn't Sawyer and Co. run into Rose & Bernard in 1977? Which is only 30 years, not 40... but, then again, Jack & Locke aren't forensic experts. It's worth considering.

The skeletons in the cave are referred to as "Adam and Eve." When Locke and Jack found them they said that they cloth had to be at least 40 years old. It was a man, and a woman, one with a black stone, one with a white one. Maybe it was Rose and Bernard running back to the cave that they found when they first arrived on the island.

Okay, as everyone knows I've been on a google spree lately, but this one is amazing. I suggest you guys go to google and type "the skeleton cave couple on lost" and then go to the first one you see, it's called, " A Lost Place: The Skeleton Cave Couple". I swear, it will blow your minds. Trust me.

I just googled the russian text inside the flame station. It wasn't what I expected, it was about Afghanistan and some guy named Andrei. But there was other cool stuff. In the clips after John's chess victory, it said that Chang had a prosthetic left arm. I don't remember that, so I m gonna have to rewatch it. There's also a couple bloopers on air in that episode. Real good stuff.

Jdam Having a time wheel or special abilities would seem really neat at first, but it would appear that they would be a lot more work. I mean, I could spend my entire life trying to help folks. Same with the special abilities.

Dead is dead, unless you loop time.
Infinite EM power is infinite EM power, unless you mishandle it.
A constant is a constant, a variable is a variable, Yaa-Daa Yaa-Daa.
Everyone has parents.
Everyone has lovers.
Everyone grows old. (Unless an accident occurs).
Everyone dies.

Now that the basics are covered, let's dive down deep.

What would you do if you had access to a time wheel? Would you hide a magical island, or would you use it to go back and start 'fixing things'? Would you use it to go back and erase mistakes in your life (things that beat you up) or would you use it for a life of crime? (I'll bet someone bets on the Red Socks this time!)

If you had special powers, would you try to be a clairvoyant for mankind or simply save yourself? Would you try to see the future or would you let an old man teach you how to use your powers to focus a knife throw better so you can land one in the back of an unsuspecting person? (Poor Naomi).

Would you run from 'it', even though you don't know what 'it' is? Or would you run to 'it', and stare at 'it' with curiosity? Are you sure you really even see 'it' for what 'it' really is? Are you capable of comprehending 'it'?

If we're the variable, who or what is the constant? Is the constant more powerful?

See, aren't these questions more fun? I'm all charactered out, especially since they are dying off one by one. Jack's right. It doesn't matter anymore.

And Locke beat the chess game once and saw the video of Chang giving all the different options and buttons to push for each.

One of my favorite episodes was the one where John, Kate and Sayid infiltrate The Flame. There are a couple of questions that I need your help with Rev. There was a full piece of paper that had what I would assume to be Russian dialect, with red marker on certain words. Do you know what that paper read? Also, when John beat the computer at chess, do you think it was automatically set to explode after victory, or do you think someone was waiting for someone to push those buttons?

Exactly.
There's nothing wrong with being sociable , but it's not a high school lunch room popularity contest. It's a message board for a T.V. show. You pick and choose who you like and don't like based on how much attention they show you and how quickly they try to warm up to you, and if they don't you try to "excommunicate" them and have your moderator friends start watchdogging them. Like I said before, you don't have to read my posts Miss, you keep seeking me out choosing to read them. I usually pass yours by. It seems you have the penchant for drama and attention. Not I.

I'm with you Rev, this site is to theorize. Some theories are good, and some are not. But none are "right", at least not yet. And Miss Pants, you don't even talk about the show, you just give shout outs to your friends, and none of that is relative nor does it help advance the discussions in progress.

Miss Pants.

Ok, I'm aware you got a group of friends on here and so on, but you really need to stop the sarcastic condescending little digs on me. I hadn't said anything to anyone, was no drama, just passing conversation back and forth between the show and you come at me...........again. Grow up, seriously.

Now as far as the "simmer down" comment to cdewitt, the reason I said it like that was because of his comment of
" well i guess no here appreciates my theory becuase its right." Maybe it was just me, but that sounded kinda snide.
And it's spelled hypocrisy, and no I'm not practicing it. Other than the "simmer down" party I was completely civil and talked about things pertaining to the show. Didn't launch any attacks. You keep seeming to wanna launch attacks at me however. Because you keep finding reasons to make smartass comments towards me. Just drop the drama, for real.

As far as Rousseau, she was young when she saw Jin the first time, and she had been through a lot since then. Losing Alex, trying to survive and avoid being killed by the others, and plus being alone when her team was "infected" and all turned on each other and she was the only one left. Then Jin time flashed away and she was left to fend for herself. So she was in shock and Jin was probably the last thing on her mind. Her main priority was Alex.

cedewitt,

Simmer down now, you don't know if you're right. That's why it's called theorizing, because we don't know anything for certain until the final season. And Penny and Daniel are half brother and sister at the most. Eloise isn't Penny's mother. Ben said to Charles when he was being escorted to the sub "You fathered a child with a woman off the island." He fathered Daniel with Eloise ON the island.
As far as the bomb, just one bomb wouldn't emit enough radiation to cause EVERY woman there to go sterile, it was underground , walled in pretty thick surroundings. The other's put the bomb underground in the 50's. Miles' mother gave birth to him on the island. She didn't get cancer til she was off the island, because we saw her with Miles when he was a little boy and she was perfectly healthy.

well i guess no here appreciates my theory becuase its right LOL but jin and roussou never came face to face in the present and if they did she would remember him from the day all the stuff went on with her team and she said they all died which she killed them and she tried to kill jin because he disappeared. now the reason why children and mothers die is because the leaking hydro bomb was buried under neath the DHARMA initiative barracks and if u remember miles mother was dying of cancer and her hair was falling out hmmmmm please some one read my posts and give me some credit please thank you all for enjoying lost as much as i do peace love and DHARMA

Yeah I think Widmore will find a way back too. Probably with the help of Eloise. For all we know, she could go back too, to maybe undo what she did to Daniel. I have heard of the lost experience but I haven't checked it out yet. There's a couple hanso interviews on you tube but most are fake. There is another rumor about the pilot who died in the series opener, that he could be returning. What do you think?

Well, as far as the Black Rock. It's pretty far inland. And whoever put it there , put it there for a reason. Whether it was Jacob, his nemesis, who knows.
As far as the captain, it's interesting that the descendant of Magnus Hanso is the head of the Dharma Initiative. And in the Rachel Blake tapes from The Lost Experience Alvar Hanso is not only working with the DeGroots, but with Thomas Mittlewerk. I think the DeGroots and the D.I. were sacrificial lambs so to speak. I have a hunch their Hanso/Mittlewerk's main goal was to get to the island, harness the ability for time travel (hence why Radzinski was so persistent) and use it for their own gain to manipulate past and future evens and "play God." In one of Rachel Blake's interviews with Alvar Hanso he basically "comes clean" to Rachel and you can tell he feels guilty. In another tape when she's spying on Mittlewerk giving a speech, Mittlewerk acts like he could care less about the whereabouts of the Dharma Initiative, he was determined as ever to find the island. The better question as far as the Black Rock journal is how did it make it's way off the island back into civilization? Widmore bought the journal for one reason alone, to find the island. That's how he knew where to send the freighter team. I think Widmore will find a way back to the island and play a role in the battle to come.

I wonder if we'll find out what the captain of The Black Rock wrote in the journal. I am curious as to how long after his visit did he stop writing. And what happend to him? Since Widmore purchased it, perhaps those answers will soon be revealed, because I am fairly certain his involvement is far from over.

Also I noticed a couple other things.

When Hurley, Sawyer, and Locke are playing Risk in Ben's house before Keamy arrives, Hurley makes a simple, but profound statement. He says "Australia is the key to the whole thing." They all caught flight 815 in Australia, Claire was from Australia and gave birth to Aaron , and there were 4 generations of Shepards on the plane. Christian, Jack, Claire, and Aaron (albeit unborn). When Jacob and the nemesis are on the beach and see the Black Rock arriving the "man in black" says "It always ends the same, they come, they fight, they destroy, they corrupt." Perhaps everyone that Jacob touched all finally came together in one place , having to go through trials and struggles to prove they are worthy to prove his enemy wrong. Like maybe when he was reading "Everything Rises Must Converge" before Locke falls out of the window. Australia was the place that everyone who would prove there was good left in man would finally be where they needed to.

The second thing is , when Juliet , Sawyer, and Kate escape the Dharma sub and find Rose and Bernard, Bernard offers her some tea. Juliet visibly holds her stomach, as if to hint she were pregnant. To further this theory, when Rose and Bernard talk about just being together, Sawyer stares at Kate and Juliet notices. It almost seems like her heart was sinking because she was pregnant with Sawyer's child. (it's 1977 so the infertility hadn't come into play yet) Maybe that was what the incident was, and maybe what also triggered the infertility. If Juliet was indeed pregnant, maybe when she hit the bomb it set off one more final time jump and Jack and company go back to 2007 (which is what Jacob means when he says "they're coming") , and Juliet goes back to Ancient Egypt and has twins. One being bitter about what happened to their mother, the other being understanding and tolerant of mankind and understanding they're not all inherantly evil. Hence the statue. Taweret sounds awfully similar to Juliet. Maybe they were her sons and that was their tribute to her.

At first I was thinking Richard might be associated with the sun god Ra, since his initials are R.A.
But then Ilana called him Ricardus, which is Latin, which could mean he was a Roman soldier in ancient Egypt and Jacob is Ra since he represents light (at least we think so).
